2Pac (featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) – Untouchable

2Pac (featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) – Untouchable / 2006 Amaru / 2 Tracks / http://www.2paclegacy.com / Reviewed 10 November 2006

I wish that 2Pac would have just been able to release these songs as a seventy year old person trying to allow individuals more into eir mind than having tracks dribble out every few years in memory of eir life. Still, it is great to hear any output from 2Pac, even if it is posthumous. The same thing can be said with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, as it has been a long time since I have heard anything new from that act. This single has two version of “Untouchable” on it, a clean / radio version and what is the album (dirty) version. The vocals, the flow laid down by 2Pac on this track is fresh, even if the track is over a decade old. The backing beat has a retro, old-school feel to it, and one has to wonder if there is not too much that is happening during this track. There is the flow of Bone, the gun-shot percussion, and 2Pac’s flow all happening at the same time. However, when one or more of these factors drop out, the track becomes much more strong. “Untouchable” is a hard-hitting track that benefits greatly from the two different styles of rapping on the track, and I can’t wait for this track to creep up the charts on every rap radio station in the United States.
