Digger - Keystone
Considering the only bands I am completely sure come from Pennsylvania are Poison, Anti-Flag and Live, I can honestly say that Digger is the best band to come out of Pennsylvania in a long time. At times sounding like The Red Hot Valentines, Digger really goes and accomplishes a strong album while being relatively poppy and happy sounding. I can think of very few bands that actually make a good, strong pop-punk album, such as the aforementioned Red Hot Valentines and Pinhead Gunpowder, while a myriad of bad bands such as Good Charlotte, Unwritten Law, OPD, and literally thousands of other acts sully the once good name of pop-punk. With more albums like this, Digger will be in the hgihest echelons of popular music, as songs such as "Mesh Hats and Interstates" and "Gemini" really rival such amazing acts as Alkaline Trio. Powerful guitars create what I deem "driving music", as the music is hook-laden enough to allow for some great road-trips, while the lyrics on the disc expound on Chris' continuing ennui with life, from the actual everyday motions to losing love, topics in which one will find a kindred spirit. If you wish to get a copy of this disc, I would seriously have to recommend ordering this disc off the website, as a greater percentage of the money from it would go to Hopeless for signing other earth-shaking acts as this.
