Deep Elm Records - Unreleased 2
This is a collection of tracks that were for some reason, not released by the bands on Deep Elm. Some of these tracks are no where near as polished as they could be, and some of the tracks really draw from this, making for some great tracks. These tracks include The Appleseed Cast's "The Spider Wall", which really illuminates the other side of The Appleseed Cast than the one we see during Lost Songs, Drive Til Morning's "Tell Me A Story", which creates the sound of a band sitting around a group of friends jamming, and David Singer's "A Mercenary Love Song", which has some very interesting arrangements to it. This is not to shun the rest of the songs on the disc, as all are great, but the three aforementioned songs really do the most for me. By all means, pick up this CD if you are a fan of any of the bands on this disc, or even if you wish to be introduced to Deep Elm's vast stables of talent, this CD will do wonders. Unlike most compilations, this CD is really diverse without losing a general sound, ensuring that this will not be your average disc. As with all Deep Elm releases, you can find them at most good independent record stores and on their website.
