Taking Notes #1
I am not sure why I got this compilation, but the tracks on here are for the most part 80s-influenced, and only a few really stand out in my mind. The record label, with all the stuff that in enclosed with the album, looks like they've been around for a decent amount of time, but I've never heard of them or any of the bands that they have put on the compilation. I2I's "Midnight" really reminds me of Crystal Waters or one of the myriad of other female-led acts, while Morgen Particle's "Ephemeral Mist" really sounds like it should be on an early nineties Gothic compilation. The lack of cohesion really is about the only problem on this disc, but it is really just a problem that wil be fixed in future compilations. The music starts off a little weak and forgettable, but some of the later tracks, such as the two mentioned and Cue's "Ready For War". The disc would be bgood for a party, but it reallys doesn't work that well listening to it repeated times in a short period, as the music will actually start to grate on peoples nerves. As with all forms of compilations, the way one person listens to it will be totally dependent on the mood that they are in. Please go to their website and listen to the tracks that they have up and make your own decision.
